3. Fees and payment
- Membership fees are collected by Direct Debit, monthly in advance, through our membership and payment provider. The Direct Debit Guarantee applies.
- Your membership continues month to month until you cancel it.
- We will give at least 30 days' written notice of any fee increase. You may cancel before it takes effect.
- There is no admin charge for a failed payment. You must still pay any arrears, and we may pause your access until they are paid.
4. Cancelling
- Ending your membership: give us 30 days' written notice by emailing hello@fossefitness.co.uk. You pay up to the end of the notice period.
- Freezing: the gym manager will consider each freeze request case by case, for example for injury or illness.
- If we close the gym permanently, we will refund any payment for a period when it was not open.
5. Using the gym safely
- Use equipment only as shown at your induction. If you are unsure, ask staff.
- If your health questionnaire raises any concern, see a doctor before training and tell reception.
- Report faulty equipment, spills, accidents and near misses to staff straight away.
- Sunbeds: adults only. Nobody under 18 may use them. Use is supervised by staff and subject to the health information and session limits displayed.
- The changing rooms are open-plan with no private cubicles. If you would like more privacy, ask reception and we will do what we reasonably can.
6. Code of conduct
- Treat everyone with respect. We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, abuse or intimidation.
- Wipe down equipment after use and return weights to the racks. Do not drop or slam weights.
- Do not film or photograph other people. Do not use a phone in a way that could capture others in the changing rooms.
- No alcohol, illegal drugs or anabolic substances. Do not sell or share supplements or medicines on the premises.
- Scan your own QR code to enter. Do not let anyone follow you in.
- Follow all instructions from staff, the fire plan and the emergency procedures.
7. Suspension and ending of membership
We may warn, suspend or end your membership straight away for serious or repeated breaches of the code of conduct, including violence, harassment, theft or putting others at risk. We will tell you why, and you may appeal in writing to hello@fossefitness.co.uk.
8. Liability
We are responsible for injury, death or loss caused by our negligence, and for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. Otherwise, you use the gym at your own risk, within the health advice you were given, and we are not responsible for loss of or damage to your personal belongings. This does not affect your legal rights as a consumer.
9. CCTV and entry
We use CCTV outside the premises, on the main gym floor and at reception to prevent crime and protect members and staff. There are no cameras in the changing rooms or toilets. Entry is by QR code at a staffed reception desk. See our Privacy Policy for how we use this data.
10. Complaints
Tell any member of staff or email hello@fossefitness.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days and aim to reply in full within 10 working days. If you are not satisfied, the owner will review it within 14 days, and that reply is our final position.
11. Equality
The gym is open to everyone and does not discriminate on any protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010. We make reasonable adjustments for disabled members. Ask reception if you need any support.
12. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will tell you by email about any change that affects you. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
